Thursday’s menu

ok, I know this is a dull dull dull posting but I said I was going to write what I’m eating so I can see what I’m doing.  Please feel free to not read any of this!

* mug of hot water with lime wedge

* juice – see my earlier posting for what was in it and the photos – it was delicious!

* olives, hommous, coleslaw, 2 sticks of celery, half avocado with some sea salt and tabasco mashed up, cherry tomato

* 2 rocky bars (chocolate covered biscuits) *sigh* I stupidly went shopping when I was hungry and couldn’t resist when Chloe tore open the packet before going home

* spinach, beansprouts, sugar snap peas, 3 cherry tomatoes, 2 small slices of chicken breast, thai green curry paste, coconut milk – poured over the raw veg

* 2 x vodka and tonics as I went out to the pub with my friend Michelle and laughed and chatted and shouted over some good live music.  Great evening!  Thanks Bird x

Raw Juice created by moi! Rawrrr Beetmmm!

This morning I looked in my fridge and thought hmmm, what shall I bung in my juice? And you know what, I think I managed to create something pretty goddam delicious!

Rawrrr Beetmmm

* 2 sticks of celery
* one raw beetroot, cleaned thoroughly, topped n tailed
* 2 apples (I use Braeburn – yummy!)
* 1/4 fresh lime, peeled
* 1 courgette

Juice that lot up then pour into a blender with some ice and then I added:

* generous handful of fresh spinach
* splodge of Udo’s Oil (umm 2 tbsp? however much you like really)
* bio acidophilus – 1 capsule, opened into it
* spirulina – 1 tsp
* wheatgrass powder – 1 tsp

You don’t have to add the oil etc. but if you have some supplements you want to bung in it, then please do so :D

Here is a photo of what it looked like in it’s various stages – it was soooooooooo pretty when the main ingredients were juiced. Reminded me of raspberries and cream… which completely distracted me from the state of my chopping board which looked like I’d just murdered someone on it because of chopping up the beetroot *lmao*

I am really pleased with this juice it tastes – ok this is gonna sound weird – but it reminds me a bit of chocolate and the texture is really pleasing in the mouth too. It’s really smooth and creamy, I think the courgette gives it that quality. I hope you have a go at making it yourself ‘cos it really is mmm!
