How to break a fast – the raw vegan way

I survived my two day fast of water with fresh lemon squeezed in it, and ok, I may have cheated a tinsy tiny bit yesterday evening but it wasn’t too hard to do.

So this morning I delayed gratification until after I dropped the kids at school so I could share how I was going to do it.

I made this smoothie up on the hoof and it turned out delicious, thank gawd!  Please try to ignore the HUGE spot I’ve got… what can I say? Perils of detoxing and better out than in!  I WILL have beautiful skin if I just blooming well stick with a more healthy lifestyle.. I just need to look at this video to remind myself of that if a get some humungous sugar or dairy craving eh *lol*


Mmmm… yummy..  ok, here’s the ingredients again if you want to have go:

  • handful of spinach
  • 2 sticks of celery
  • 1 green apple
  • 2 small savoy cabbage leaves
  • 1 inch slice of pineapple, rind removed
  • slice of unwaxed lemon, rind on
  • 1/3 of a cucumber
  • 1 courgette (zucchini)
  • juice that lot then blend with half an avocado and some ice
  • add supplements such as Udo’s oil and bio acidophilus before blending if you like
  • remember to swill round your mouth before swallowing ‘chew it’

The one I made for lunch was slightly bitter, from the greens I think, and I don’t have a picture but it was made of:

  • greens (dunno what the stuff is – large dark green leaves tho)
  • 1 apple
  • 3 carrots
  • slice of lemon
  • some broccoli – head and stalk
  • 1 inch slice of pineapple
  • juice that and blend with some ice and half frozen banana
  • I also added 2tsp of spirulina before blending
