Clean Green Juice - day 4 of 100 day juice challenge

Clean Green Juice

I didn’t get round to making today’s Clean Green juice until late afternoon as I went back to yoga for the first time in a month, this morning.  Damn I was feeling fat and grumpy throughout.

In fact I came back and sabotaged myself by eating chocolate (sorry Nicola, yes your Ferrero Rocher took a hit), a cereal bar, some leftover risotto, some leftover pasta with tuna that my niece had made and ermm, a wafer thin slice of butter. Yes. I know. I’m gross.

*sigh*

Of course, that maelstrom only served the purpose of making me more bloated and grumpy. But at least I contained it to one hour and didn’t continue to binge on whatever I could lay my hands on for the rest of the day. That’s what I would have done before.

I did think, “OH BALLS”. As of course, I’m not going to be able to tick off the ‘Eat Clean’ box on Coach.me for today. And that did focus me enough to stop me going off the rails any further.

Hmm, I wonder if I should break that task down even further to Eat Clean Breakfast, Eat Clean Lunch, Eat Clean Dinner..

I’ll have a think about it. That may give me too much wiggle room.

What I am loving about Lift is that I have set up a list of habits I want to adopt – that are achievable. I want to feel good about myself and this is helping me focus and get into a rhythm. There’s also a nice little community going on in there of people supporting each other, which also spurs me on to doing it every day.

It’s like giving myself a gold star on a chart – who says 5 year olds have to have all the sticker fun!

It has also shown me that when I’m feeling fat and frumpy that I need to find an alternative comforter to food. What will it be though.. I need to decide on something quick. What has worked for you?

Here’s today’s juice recipe, which, as the name suggests, tastes very clean. You’ll have to try it to see what I mean.

Clean Green Juice

I juiced

  • half a honeydew melon
  • 3 small pak choi
  • 3 sticks of celery

Simple eh. I think a knob of peeled ginger and/or some lime would have been nice in this too. Oh and if you’re not used to green juice you may want to add a slice of fresh pineapple into the juicer too to sweeten it up.
